How 1440 Bible Handles Scripture, AI & Study
1440 Bible exists to help you investigate Scripture yourself. That only works if you can see exactly where the words come from and where a machine has touched them.

Where the text comes from
Every English verse is the King James Version. The Hebrew and Greek behind each verse comes from the STEPBible tagged texts, aligned to King James verse numbering. Word definitions come from the Strong's dictionaries. Nothing in the reader or the interlinear is written by AI.
How AI is used
1440 Bible uses technology to help locate relevant passages, connect related Scripture, organise research, verify references against the King James text, and create open ended study prompts. It does not carry biblical authority. It does not rewrite generated text to look like Scripture. And it does not replace your responsibility to read, examine, pray over, and rightly handle the text.
For sermon preparation, 1440 Bible helps you organise Scripture and the notes you have already written rather than writing the sermon for you. It restates your own points in your own wording, attaches passages to them, points out passages that cut against them, and says plainly when Scripture does not support a point. It never writes sermon wording, applications, illustrations or conclusions.
Technology helps with the investigation. Scripture remains the source. You remain responsible for the conclusion.
How the page is labelled
So nothing is ever mistaken for the Bible itself, three kinds of material are kept apart wherever they appear together: Scripture, which is the King James text and always shown in the serif reading type; your notes, which are only ever what you wrote; and 1440 research, which is the retrieval, organisation and open questions produced by the system.
What we refuse to do
- We do not invent Scripture support. If the Bible does not establish a claim, the answer says so plainly rather than filling the space.
- We do not hide when a passage cuts against a claim. Counter evidence from the same book is shown alongside the passages that appear to support it.
- Pictographic letter readings are marked as interpretive tradition, kept separate from the lexical definition.
- We do not show a number or a fact we cannot source.
